I think that Sandman would be such a difficult series to turn into a movie especially considering that it's not a series in the sense of things happening necessarily chronologically, but a series of stories about the Sandman (among others). I could totally see it working on television as a series (but not a traditional series, but as like a mini-series or something) where the different individual stories could be packaged in a way that makes sense. I dunno. I'd love for something to be done with it, because the stories are so good.
Personally, the two that I'd love to see made into movies are Transmetropolitan and The Authority (both by Warren Ellis). Partially because the way the art is drawn in those books just scream for them to be up on the big screen. Transmetropolitan seems like it would make such a good film, because even though it's a series that runs for five years, it's a complete story arc. They could even break it into two or three movies, that would have enough plot to stand on it's own, while also moving to the overarching conclusion.
