Heh, yeah. Both my husband and I turned to each other and were like: "Where the hell does he think he's going? Get back in there yoda! You're not done yet!"

Hell, a random stormtrooper could have accidentally shot her as she made her way to Vader. Or, Palaptine could have killed her and lied about it later. Put all the blame on the actual villian if you must. That would have been workable.

Oh yes, any of those would have been far better. I especially like the one where a random stormtrooper shoots her... heheh.
