I have to disagree on one point, athena: Revan falling to the Dark Side out of "love" for Bastila is a decent motivation for a male Revan. The problem comes when an author writes the relationship as sweetness and light. Revan sells his soul out of a combination of lust and sheer terror at having to kill Bastila. As his apprentice, Bastila will eventually betray him. All this is material for a pretty good tragedy of a noble man giving into weakness and temptation. I do agree with you, however, that better Dark Side stories where the characters are truly evil and complex need to be written.
