The Valentine's Day Dueling Circle Challenge has been posted. I want to thank everyone for all of their awesome suggestions, because they were beyond helpful (especially rim's :P).

I've also posted what [livejournal.com profile] siujerkjai and I affectionately like to call "The Wank to End All Wank," and already we've pissed someone off.

So awesome.

Oh noes. More Revan wank. If Revan-as-female doesn't work, why is it an option in the game? Why am I trying to insert common sense into something that will only end in wanky tragedy?

But I likies the challenge. I'll have to make room in my schedule for it. :D

From: [identity profile] prisoner--24601.livejournal.com

Hahahah don't try common sense with someone like him. Just enjoy the combination of clueless idiocy and condescension in the form of poor grammar.

I think he's truly hilarious. I want him to comment more.

(And I can't wait to see what you come up with for the challenge. Yay!)

From: [identity profile] prisoner--24601.livejournal.com

Lol, I have no idea why it would piss people off. You'd think that the whole idea of a fem Revan would be acceptable by now, but apparently one reviewer has issues with it that he wants to make known to one and all. Why he chose my story to comment on and make his stance known, I don't quite get. It might be that he's bitter that we bounced his crappy and amazingly pretentious story from the kfm fic queue.

At any rate, I hope he continues, because I find him hilarious.

From: [identity profile] winterfox.livejournal.com

Oh, that.

It reminds me that I do have a registered account at KFM. Must not wank, must not wank. And here I thought that a female Revan was a commonly accepted, nay dominant, view in the fandom. Or at least it was way back when I was somewhat active -- have things changed so much?

From: [identity profile] midnight-hawk.livejournal.com

The vast majority does seem to support female Revan (or has no problem with either gender, because duh it's a personal choice thing), but there's a persistent and loud minority that screams that Male Revan is the One True Way.

Here's (http://www.kotorfanmedia.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2724&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15) A particularly wanky example (the guy in this topic and his sockpuppets got banned so there's no active wankery from him).

From: [identity profile] prisoner--24601.livejournal.com

I think things have gotten a bit touchy ever since M!Revan was declared cannon by lucas arts. Nevertheless the majority of the kfm population really doesn't give a damn, but there seem to be a few persistent wankers that make it their crusade to try and antagonize people about it (actually I think Hito was one of those said wankers - surprise, suprise).

From: [identity profile] prisoner--24601.livejournal.com

lol it's not. It's just the context that he chose to voice his opinion in that's weird.

Honestly, I don't care how people view Revan. Male, female, hut, whatever - it's all up to them. But why they'd leave that, and only that, as a comment to my story - without even really explaining themselves, is what I find rather amusing (and trollish ).

From: [identity profile] firera.livejournal.com

Meh. That haneko guy again? Or someone else? Maybe someone should ask them why they're guys when they whine so much.

I haven't been to the boards for ages. But it's a really good read. ^^

From: [identity profile] prisoner--24601.livejournal.com

You know, it very might well be that haneko/black soldier guy again. I've brought it to the attention of the more tech savvy mods who will hopefully be able to answer that question. If it is he's probably going to get hit with the banstick shortly.

From: [identity profile] firera.livejournal.com

Can't they just ban him forever? Saves the trouble from banning him over and over again. And if it's really that haneko guy, I seriously wonder where he gets the free time to come back again and again to try to annoy people.

Bored teenage kid?

From: [identity profile] prisoner--24601.livejournal.com

I think they've probably done a ban according to his IP address. I think the way it works though is that if he does it from a new IP address, we're not going to be able to catch it, and will have to do a ban from that too.

But like I said, I suck when it comes to the technical guts of the site, so I've left it in the hands of people far more capable than I.

I really do hope he's a bored teenager, and not someone who cares so much about his dumbass viewpoint about a fictional Star Wars character that he feels the need to fight the establishment. Someone taking this stuff that seriously would be far scarier lol.

From: [identity profile] firera.livejournal.com

Ah, I see.

Jedism, to be exact, I suppose. It's scary how some people can be so absorbed in their beliefs to be so psychotic. Not to mention he claimed to be a SW expert. Uhm...yeah...expert. Right. /sarcasm

XD

Well, for the last week or so every time I try to log on to KFM to leave a review, it goes to a blank white screen - which reeks, because I hate that the last comment is so completely and thoroughly obtuse. I'm glad you find him amusing, because I'd like to pull his tonsils out through his nose, personally. Bitter little bugger.

Anyhoo, I'm not the most online-lingo savvy, but I guess wank doesn't mean what I thought it did (I thought wank was a negative thing), because I thought this piece was rock solid - written with just the perfect amount of gravitas, because I never felt manipulated into mourning or crying and it never once even approached the line of melodrama (which would have been so easy to do!). Then again, with all your stuff I always feel like I'm reading about real people and not a story. For this one, since I followed the Onderon sagas, Min and Canderous feel like old friends of mine, and good lord how this stomped all over my heart because of that! Anyway - I'm not a good reviewer, I'm sorry! Main thing is, I dearly loved it and I'm glad I got to read it. Thanks for sharing :)

From: [identity profile] prisoner--24601.livejournal.com

Yay! I'm so glad that you like it! Wank generally is a negative term - Dinah and I have just been poking fun at ourselves because there was so much potential to turn this into a huge wankfest given the situation of the story lol (and there were a couple of times as we were writing where we did cross the line and had to edit stuff out or change it). And since we couldn't come up with a title for a long, long time we used the working title "The Wank to End All Wank" because it made us laugh.

Anyway thanks for your comments. It makes me happy to know that people enjoyed this and even better specifically why you enjoyed it, because that's so amazingly helpful.

From: [identity profile] prisoner--24601.livejournal.com

Oh you know, I just had a thought. Have you tried asking about your technical problems here? (http://www.kotorfanmedia.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=18&sid=3f7c175075d25260d6073dd131262aa7)

I wish I could specifically help you, but I'm a tech moron. The mods that check that thread might have some answers for you though (and if they don't happen to see it and respond, I can always nudge them in your direction.

From: [identity profile] siujerkjai.livejournal.com

*gives Pris a high-5* First thing in the morning and we've already pissed someone off. It's going to be a good day.

I'm going to write a M!Revan/Canderous romance just for that guy.

From: [identity profile] maddcoffeybrown.livejournal.com

I did have this idea awhile back about Mission finding out just "how" wookiees are made. Though I'll have to rework the entire thing to make it PG. XD

From: [identity profile] prisoner--24601.livejournal.com

Holy crap. That ties with Dinah's idea for the most awesome thing ever. You must do this now!

From: [identity profile] prisoner--24601.livejournal.com

*High fives back*

OMG... please, please, please tell me that you're not joking. That might actually be the most awesome thing... ever. If you do, you have to put a dedication to him just at the beginning.

From: [identity profile] miakun.livejournal.com

Man I KNEW that topic seemed familiar, was kind of driving me nuts.

I'll try and write something for it, but I'm a little burnt out on the fandom. I mean I completley forgot about Kavar the other day.

From: [identity profile] prisoner--24601.livejournal.com

Oh yeah. It was your brilliant topic that I totally ripped off shamelessly. Judging from the response so far, people rather like it.

I absolutely understand on the fandom burnout thing. If you can muster something up, that would be awesome, but I know what it feels like to just be staring at the page and trying to write about something that just doesn't interest you at the moment.

(I think the world might end though... you forgetting about Kavar must be one of the signs that the end is coming.)

From: [identity profile] mizanchan.livejournal.com

Wow, you're sure the troublemaker, aren't you Pris? ;)

Seriously, I've been there myself, and I know it can be a pain in the arse to read stuff like that. Last year when I first posted Affection's Affirmation, the first comment I received was from someone who actually bothered taking the time to write a one-line "review" (using the term loosely there) about how much he hated the Disciple and couldn't stand to see the Exile paired with him. I literally had to go back through my story and make sure I didn't include Exile in it by mistake (which I didn't. Exile wasn't even in the fic, except for being mentioned in passing). I PM'ed Rim, asked him to take a look-see and handle things as he saw fit, and that was that.

Anyway, that was an awesome fic, Pris! And Dinah, too! You guys make Canderous/Revan romance so plausible, even if that isn't my choice romance du jour.

Also, great Challenge on the site! I've got a couple ideas brewing at the back of my mind, so we'll see if they percolate properly into writing pieces. :D

From: [identity profile] prisoner--24601.livejournal.com

You know, I'm not entirely sure what motivates people like this or why they feel the need to blurt out their totally non-relevant opinions in a review. I think this is the first time it's ever happened to me, which is probably why I find it so hilarious.

I'm glad you like the fic and the challenge. Unfortunately, I can't take total credit for either of them lol.

Oh for crying out loud...

Looks like you have your very own My Little Troll(TM) over on KFM! I'd link you, but they'll likely be deleted before long. It's really ridiculous, and extremely long, but I'll put up a rant or something about it on my journal, where you can view its ramblings in their entirety.

Re: Oh for crying out loud...

LOL thanks for the heads up (and support). I found it in my in box this morning. We'll see if this wanker decides to come out an play here.
